Samsung Elevates Galaxy S25 Series with Real-Time Visual AI Powered by Gemini Live

Samsung has officially launched a cutting-edge AI update for its Galaxy S25 series, transforming the way users interact with their smartphones. Dubbed “Gemini Live,” the new feature introduces real-time visual intelligence through camera and screen-sharing capabilities, powered by Google’s Gemini AI.
Starting today, users of the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra will be able to engage in live, conversational interactions with their devices simply by pointing the camera or sharing their screen. The feature can be activated by long-pressing the side button, instantly opening a window where the AI begins analyzing the visual environment and providing contextual responses.
Imagine staring at a cluttered wardrobe and not knowing what to wear. With Gemini Live, your phone becomes your personal stylist. Point your camera at your closet, and the AI will offer outfit suggestions based on what it sees. Browsing an online store? Share your screen, and it will provide tailored style advice or help compare products in real time.
This fusion of visual context and conversational AI mimics having a smart companion—one who sees what you see and understands what you need.
“Together with Google, we are marking a bold step toward the future of mobile AI,” said Jay Kim, Executive Vice President of Samsung’s Mobile eXperience division. “These new capabilities are deeply in sync with how we live, work, and communicate.”
While the feature is currently exclusive to the Galaxy S25 lineup, Samsung hinted that Gemini Live may expand to other Galaxy models in the near future. Notably, the service comes at no extra cost, even for users who haven’t subscribed to Gemini Advanced.
This release aligns with Google’s broader vision to bring multimodal AI—the ability to understand both visual and audio inputs simultaneously—to Android users. The underlying technology stems from Project Astra, announced at Google I/O 2024, and has now matured enough to be rolled out on flagship devices.
Despite some early feedback suggesting that Gemini Live occasionally works more like a snapshot-based assistant than a continuous live feed analyzer, the promise it holds is undeniable. The ability to ask questions about what’s on-screen or in front of the camera opens up new dimensions in smartphone usability—from productivity hacks to smart organization tips.
As mobile AI continues to evolve, Samsung and Google’s collaboration on Gemini Live might just redefine what users expect from their devices—shifting them from tools to truly intelligent companions.
