Realme shows off prototype phone with 10,000mAh battery and 320W charging

Right at the start of 2023, Realme unveiled its 240W charging system, which made its debut on the Realme GT Neo 5. Since then, Realme has been the only phone maker to offer 240W – and now the company is ready to beat its own record.
In the build-up to the Realme GT 7 global launch, the company shared details on a prototype phone with a massive 10,000mAh and equally impressive 320W charging.
The most impressive thing about this prototype is that it measures only 8.5mm thick and weighs 215g. Realme used a battery with 10% silicon anode and achieved an energy density of 887Wh/L. To maximize the internal volume that is available for the battery, the company shrunk the phone’s motherboard to just 23.4mm tall – that’s the smallest on an Android phone yet!
Chace Xu, the President of Realme Global Marketing, posted a 2-minute unboxing video that shows off the prototype device and gives details on how it was created. Here are some screen grabs from that video:
And here is the video itself:

Again, this is just a prototype – the Realme GT 7 phones will have smaller (but still pretty huge) batteries and slower charging. However, it didn’t take long for the company to go from prototype to consumer product when it showed off its 240W charge system a couple of years ago.
