Moto Razr 2025 teaser promises ‘extraordinary’ update

Motorola will reveal new Moto Razr devices later this month, judging by a new teaser published on Thursday.
The brief video promises a launch on April 24 and it can’t really be anything but a new Razr with a tagline like “when the ordinary flips to the extraordinary #MakeItIconic”.
The smart money is on the Moto Razr 2025 with a device likely to succeed the 2024 Moto Razr 50 Ultra which earned big praise from Trusted Reviews when it landed in June last year.
Considering we’re still a couple of months away from June, it might be that Motorola is bringing the launch forward because Samsung is also preparing the Galaxy Z series foldable and flippables for the summer. Whatever Moto comes up with, it’s likely to be a challenger for the best foldable phones of 2025.
It is expected that the new flippable phone might maintain last year’s design, notable for its large 4-inch cover screen that’s the largest around for flippable phones.
However, recent reports have suggested the internal and external displays might be brighter than before. Processors are certain to be boosted too.
However, not much of that equates to “extraordinary” and that’s likely where the little nugget 9to5Google spotted within the video teaser.
The clip that shows the devices folding in and out actually shows two of the handsets spelling out ‘AI’ We’re expecting Motorola will bring us up to speed with its ‘Moto AI’ developments during the event on April 24.
Opinion
Flippables are stale already
It’s amazing how quickly these flippable phones stopped feeling novel. Just like candy bar phones there’s very little need to release new models every year.
Hopefully Moto has something else in store, other than more of the same of its admittedly impressive package for 2025.
