iPhone 17 Air’s insane thinness shown again as its RAM amount leaks

A couple of days ago a video showed us a mold of the upcoming iPhone 17 Air, showcasing how insanely thin it is with its 5.65mm silhouette. Today three new images have been leaked showing all four members of the iPhone 17 family on top of each other, and it’s very, very obvious which one is the Air.
There’s barely any room for the buttons on the sides and the USB-C port at the bottom, that’s how thin it is. Of course, rumor has it this will come at the expense of battery capacity, unsurprisingly, and it will also only have one rear camera.

In other iPhone 17-related news, Ming-Chi Kuo, analyst and usually reliable source of information about Apple’s products, says that the iPhone 17 Air will have 12GB of RAM just like the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max.
Previously, it was thought that only the Pro Max would get that amount, but Apple has apparently reconsidered. As for the ‘vanilla’ iPhone 17, Apple reportedly wants to give it 12GB of RAM, but “potential supply shortages remain a concern”. The company is said to be finalizing its assessment on the matter and will reach a decision next month.
Even if the iPhone 17 will only get 8GB, all members of the iPhone 18 family are now rumored to have 12GB. Kuo says Apple’s move to put more RAM into its iPhones stems from “intensifying competition in the smartphone market”.
