Google Messages just made ditching spam texts a breeze


What you need to know

  • Google Messages now has an “Unsubscribe” button to easily stop those annoying automated texts.

Google Messages is rolling out a built-in “Unsubscribe” button to give you an easy way to shut down those automated texts for good.

Mishaal Rahman over at Android Authority has spotted a fresh new feature popping up in Google Messages. It’s a little prompt at the end of spammy texts that says, “unsubscribe to stop receiving messages.” Once you tap it, you’ll get a quick pop-up asking why you’re opting out.
