Fidelis Partnership hires Erik Manning as Head of Ceded Reinsurance


The Fidelis Partnership (TFP) a privately owned, Bermuda-domiciled managing general underwriter, has appointed reinsurance and insurance-linked securities (ILS) veteran Erik Manning from BMS Re as Head of Ceded Reinsurance.

According to the announcement, Manning will start his new role this month.

Based in Bermuda, Manning has more than two decades of experience across reinsurance, with a particular focus on retrocession and ILS, including roles in fund management and structuring.

Most recently, he has held roles as a Director at BMS Re in Bermuda and as Head of ILS at re/insurance broking group Miller.

Before those he worked at Lutece and Peak Capital, prior to which Manning worked in the reinsurance broking world as Managing Director at Aon Bermuda, previously also holding senior roles at Markel Re and Guy Carpenter.

He also has investment banking experience gained at ABN Amro and Deutsche Bank in the 2000’s, with roles focused on alternative capital solutions and insurance-linked securities (ILS).

Addressing his appointment, Manning said: “Having worked extensively with TFP as a broker, I know first-hand the quality of the team and the regard in which the business is held. I greatly look forward to getting started.”

At the same time, The Fidelis Partnership has also appointed Suzanne Wells to the role of Chief Operating Officer (COO), where she will be based in London.

Wells is set to join the firm in July from Arch Insurance International, where she currently serves as Deputy COO and holds responsibility for overseeing key UK functions including operational excellence, underwriting operations and strategic portfolio management.

Before she joined Arch, Wells spent nearly 10 years working at Aviva.
