iPhone 16 Now Cheaper in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: The prices of the iPhone 16 series in Pakistan have dropped to their lowest levels since the device’s launch in September 2024. Despite the lack of an official Apple store in the country, local distributors import and sell the latest iPhones each year, providing PTA-approved devices for customers.
These distributors, often referred to as “official” sellers, offer iPhones that are already registered with the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), allowing buyers to use them without paying additional registration charges. Consumers simply pay the listed price, insert their SIM cards, and begin using their devices hassle-free.

Revised PTA Tax Rates
Recent reports suggest a reduction in PTA taxes for the iPhone 16 series. The new tax rates differ based on whether the device is registered with a passport or a CNIC:
- iPhone 16: Rs107,325 (passport) / Rs130,708 (CNIC)
- iPhone 16 Plus: Rs113,075 (passport) / Rs137,033 (CNIC)
- iPhone 16 Pro: Rs135,300 (passport) / Rs161,480 (CNIC)
- iPhone 16 Pro Max: Rs148,500 (passport) / Rs176,000 (CNIC)
iPhones remain premium devices in Pakistan, limiting the number of authorized distributors. While official sellers such as Mercantile and Gnext offer reliable purchasing options, price variations in the market persist.
Some independent retailers are selling the iPhone 16 Pro Max for as low as Rs520,000, significantly lower than official distributor prices. While these deals may seem attractive, buying from verified distributors is generally considered a safer option due to quality assurance and after-sales support.
