Solidum Partners expands distribution reach for its cat bond and ILS funds

Solidum Partners AG, a Swiss insurance-linked securities (ILS) investment manager, has expanded the distribution reach of its catastrophe bond and ILS fund strategies, including ramping up sales activities in Germany with a new partnership and a growing focus on banks and wealth managers in Switzerland. The ILS investment manager is kick-starting a new phase of growth with its efforts to expand the distribution reach of its funds, with Germany seen as one area of particular opportunity.
Solidum Partners is working with Reuss Private Access to offer its cat bond fund and broader ILS fund strategies into the German institutional investor marketplace.
Recall that, Solidum Partners has a dedicated catastrophe bond fund in the UCITS format, as well as a number of ILS fund strategies that invest more broadly, one using the private cat bond structure to securitize risk and another that invests into collateralized reinsurance or retrocession, as well as some other instruments such as ILW’s or sidecars.
Reuss Private Access is a specialist platform that assists investment managers with international cross-border market access between Switzerland and the European Union.
Solidum Partners is working with Reuss Private Access to ease cross-border sales, expand its distribution reach and ultimately get its cat bond and ILS fund product range in front of more European investors.
The focus is on Germany at this time, but could encompass more of Europe over time, enabling Solidum Partners to bring its ILS fund offerings much closer, more easily, to a larger pool of international investors and enter new markets.
Further to the partnership with Reuss Private to access European investors, starting with Germany, Solidum Partners is also expanding its distribution efforts within its home market of Switzerland.
The investment manager is now targeting banks and wealth managers more actively, in addition to its established market segments of family offices and pension funds.
Ulrich Behm, Partner for sales and marketing at Solidum Partners, told us, “We are excited to expand our distribution efforts into the wealth management market while the demand is growing. Especially now in terms of high volatility and low interest rates.”
