iPhone 17 Pro Design Leak Reveals Subtle Tweaks

A recent iPhone 17 Pro design leak indicates that Apple’s upcoming flagship won’t introduce the dramatic design changes previously speculated, with only subtle modifications in store.
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the iPhone 17 Pro is not expected to deviate significantly from its predecessor. In his latest Power On newsletter, Gurman stated that the device “isn’t a major departure from current models,” and will closely resemble the iPhone 16 Pro.
While early rumors suggested a more compact Dynamic Island and revamped look, Gurman clarified that the front design will remain largely unchanged. However, the rear camera module is expected to undergo noticeable alterations, although the rest of the back will keep a consistent look with the rest of the device body.
Addressing online speculation, Gurman dismissed the alleged two-tone aesthetic. “Some images online even show a two-tone design, with a dark-black camera block on top of a silver iPhone back. Those are, like many renders on the internet, not an accurate representation of what’s to come,” he wrote. Gurman added that the iPhone 17 Pro design leak confirms a single-color back panel, including the camera area, which aligns with Apple’s trend toward more incremental design changes. One significant shift, however, will be a new camera bar that stretches across the width of the phone, matching the device’s body color.
Looking ahead, Gurman hinted at Apple preparing a major overhaul for the iPhone’s 20th anniversary next year. The company is reportedly developing a groundbreaking Pro model with enhanced use of glass, alongside its first-ever foldable iPhone.
This direction may build on the sleek design principles behind the ultra-thin iPhone 17 Air expected later this year. Apple’s long-term goal appears to echo Jony Ive’s original dream of an iPhone that resembles a seamless sheet of glass—a concept that may finally come to life with the 2026 lineup.
